⏳43. breaking the loop

🌞 DAY 10.4 • 📅 HARVESTIDE

We find Urdlen vibing with the bandits, whom he seems to have recruited.

When Droop accidentally makes some noise, Sildar comes out and begins to enact his plan. Urdlen taunts him and calls him a cockroach before making him "roll over and beg like a dog", which Sildar reluctantly does.

Soren is MALDING.

Urdlen has the bandits rough up Sildar a little and when Sildar allows it, he seems to convince the god well enough... especially when Sildar suggests kidnapping children and holding them hostage so the god can get his pudding. The ranger is sent off to go get the children.

Unfortunately, the group once again makes a noise. Will sends the Bag of Tricks goat out as a distraction, but the archer kills it, causing it, of course, to poof into nothing. Seeing that the jig is up, the group attacks.

The ensuing battle is fierce; Urdlen, however, looks drained from casting on Sildar yesterday--as the gods are not allowed to work their magic on mortals, and presumably he was hit with some backlash--and steps back, summoning skulks and ankhegs instead to attack the party.

The battle is fierce, but having learned from last time, the party takes down the cleric first, and whittle down the rest of the bandits. As they are also missing one ranger, the bandits, this time, fall to the party. Urdlen throws a little tantrum just as Granpappy finishes the ritual to banish him, and he disappears.

The group once again find themselves at the start of the festival, the day having been seemingly reset again. However, this time, as Hugh knocks, the door opens to miserly, grumpy old man who tells them to keep it down--showing that time has begun to change.
