🌞 DAY 14 • 📅 MARPENOTH 3 • 🎂🦋
Future Plans
As the party discusses their trip to Waterdeep to drop Nezznar off with the Lord's Alliance, Soren checks in with WIll regarding what his plans are now that

Will expresses a desire to check in with the Emerald Enclave when they reach Waterdeep. He's staying with us!! :> <3
On the topic of the Enclave, Hugh and Will have a clown fiesta of a conversation about recruiting trees. Hugh channels big Bartom energy by explaining that trees are free and plentiful soldiers that the Enclave should look into recuirting. At the climax of the conversation, Hugh goes outside and straight up digs a fern out from the flowerbeds outside of Stonehill, bringing it inside for Will to talk to.
Will invites Hugh to join the Emerald Enclave; Hugh is not interested in joining them "veegatarians". Sildar inquires about how Will joined the Enclave in the first place; Will briefly delves into how his father was a ranger, and had taught Will about the natural world. Will sort of "fell into it" during his travels (presumably after the drow village raid) because his father's beliefs aligned with the Enclave's tenets.
We decide to pay the doppelgangers in prison a visit to make good on our promise--that we'd free them once we captured Nezznar.
Wham Bam
As we reach the prison, Soren jokes that it's Nezznar's new home; Nezznar snarkily responds that it's spacious. Vyerith, angry at Nezznar for involving Art (after presumably promising not to) in the search for the Spellforge, eagerly inquires if we killed Nezznar.
Awkwardly, Will lets her know that we in fact have Nezznar with us, albeit in human form. Vyerith is annoyed at the fact that we are parading the very dangerous man around instead of killing him, though we assure her that he will be executed in Waterdeep.
This seems to placate Vyerith; until Will lets her and Art out, and she immediately goes and punches Nezznar hard in the stomach, then attempts to again. Soren stops the second blow and imminent fight with Silvery Barbs. Vyerith probes our thoughts and feels Soren's initial discomfort at the idea of putting Nezznar down, calling him out on it. In his mind, Soren shows her his memory of Rizoyn's death, and assures her bitterly that one way or another, Nezznar would die.
We invite Vyerith and Art back to Stonehill to join us for dinner.
Small Talks
Soren approaches Nezznar with salve for his wounds, in exchange for Nezznar explaining his reaction to Pax's Dominate Person. Nezznar sneers at the idea of confiding in Soren, but eventually admits that it has something to do with his Matron.
Soren is surprised that Nezznar was not respected amongst his family due to his achievements, and Nezznar scoffs at the notion of a male ever being respected in the hellhole that was Menzoberranzan. Soren admits that he and all the male slaves looked to Nezznar as hope that they could one day rise above their stations. Nezznar considers this laughable and proposes a meritocratic system for Menzoberranzan (if he'd had his way), where people are judged based on how much they contribute, rather than the circumstances of their birth.
Though Soren points out that the flourishing of the drow would mean the end of the surface, he admits that a merit-based society sounds better than what they have now.
Nezznar demands a drink; Soren asks him to ask. Nezznar sarcastically begs Soren for a drink and Will points out that he's being a dumbshit and that he should say please. Soren offers a trade: a bottle of firewine, in exchange for Nezznar's help in prepping for the feast that night.
Nezznar is adamant about not knowing how to perform slave labor, but is open to trying. Soren shows him how to peel garlic and he SUCKS LMAO. Soren tells him "good job" in encouragement, and Nezznar.exe literally just stops working
(Yeah so this is Nezznar's first time being told good job??? Chris it would have cost you nothing to Not give the BBEG a sad backstory fuck you)
Nezznar starts hounding Will about self-righteousness, calling Will "subservient" when Will declines to comment. Droop wonders why "everyone is malding :(" . He wonders if he can make Nezznar happier, which deals 100d20 emotional damage to Soren bc Rizoyn once wanted to do the same (for the drow in general).
The Rest of Our Days
Soren takes Sildar outside "for a walk" and, after some stammering, Soren admits that he's finally found his place in the world: traveling with Sildar for the rest of his days. He proposes to Sildar with a Ring of Matrimony.
Will and Hugh, who were both in on it, play their respective parts in accentuating the proposal; Will makes falling petals with Druidcraft, while Hugh CREATES A GIANT TWERKING HUGH WITH BUTTERFLY WINGS with a cast of Silent Image that Soren had cast into the Ring of Spellspinning. Amazing.
Sildar accepts. They kiss. I'm so soft for these two gay idiots

The group settles down to eat dinner. Soren, extra fuck that he is, delivers a small speech about how they saved the surface from the drow, and that this was the end of their first, but hopefully not last, adventure together.
We also explain our story to Garaele and by extension, the Harpers--though Soren is careful not to reveal information about the party's personal lives, as well as about Graz'zt, who warns Soren against talking about him.
Keeping Watch
Hugh and Garaele go FUCK at the Shrine of Luck!! Will takes first watch with Nezznar; the two are relatively quiet (?). Sildar then watches, and then Soren. Soren is mildly curious about Nezznar's idea of making Menzoberranzan a meritocracy and asks about it.
They speak about the qualities of the surfacers; Soren maintains that the surfacers encourage growth by acknowledging strength and being kind to each other. Nezznar argues that the surfacers coddle flaws and that this is why the drow are superior. The two do not reach a conclusion.
Once again, Soren asks Nezznar why he'd kept him around then, if he did not value anything but merit--since Soren was just a bard with no talents in combat or magic. Nezznar once again delivers the "you were a good punching bag :)" answer.
🌞 DAY 15 • 📅 MARPENOTH 4
Orc Raid
As dawn breaks, the party is awoken by the banging of war drums and torches on the horizon, as a tribe of orcs march into Phandalin. They begin to set fire to the houses and terrorize the townsfolk, as the party gathers at the door of Stonehill to discuss what to do.
