Lionshield Trading Coster

We head over to the Lionshield Trading Coster to get all the items we'd found in the cave appraised.

To our astonishment, though the gemstones make up a hefty amount on their own, the ancient dwarven historical artifacts fetch just as much, making for a total of 3,000+GP in earnings from our stint in the mines. Hugh manages to convince Linene to throw in an extra hella arrows!! Good job Hugh, u are now the bard.

Happily, we sell everything off. Linene expresses an interest in Will's breastplate, as it bears the insignia of an ancient Neverwintan hero. She promises to do research and give us a price for it by tomorrow, though Will is a little reluctant to part with it.

PAX PAX PAX

With our newfound gold, the party makes their way to Pax's Magic Shoppe. Pax is immediately able to see through the Circlet of Human Perfection and questions what we're doing lugging around the BBEG of our campaign LMAO.

Nezznar begins to shit-talk Pax for being a half-orc; Pax immediately casts Dominate Person at 9th level on Nezznar, which Nezznar fails the save against. Nezznar shuts up immediately and stares blankly forward.

Soren is amazed at the fact that Nezznar fell victim to an enchantment spell, and is initially gleeful when Pax shows it off and makes Nezznar sit and jump, but quickly becomes disturbed when Pax starts making Nezznar kneel and beg Sorennar for mercy. Nezznar is put into a corner and made to sit while the group shops.

Magic Items Galore!

We start shopping! Hugh purchases magical socks and a circlet of blasting ("Everyone else in the group can blast!!"), Will buys a bag of holding and is enamored by a flask of tea but decides against it, seeming to be saving money for something.

Soren purchases a fuckton of common items: enchanting his lute to make pretty illusions when he plays it, buying a masque charm and chest of preserving, and enchanting something else Super Secret <3

Hugh gets Droop to buy an amulet of health LMAO and we have another fiesta convo about the monies, Droop is very salding about having to spend everything but eventually does. Rip buying 300 steaks

We say our goodbyes to Pax and agree to meet her at Waterdeep.

Terror

Eventually, we circle back to Nezznar, who is still sitting in a corner.

Soren begins to ask Pax to make him follow them for the remainder of the spell (8 hours) but eventually grows too uncomfortable from seeing Nezznar without any ounce of free will. He asks Pax to break concentration on the Dominate Person, which she does.

Nezznar returns to consciousness terrified, averting his eyes from Pax and shaking. BRUH. Soren, seeing this, puts himself between Nezznar and Pax, firmly but gently telling Nezznar that he's OK now. Nezznar pleads to leave and Sorennar brings him out of the store.

On the way back, Soren, noticing that it's cold out today, drapes his jacket over Nezznar's shoulders. Nezznar accepts it wordlessly.

80-90 Porkchops

We retrieve the butchered boar from Toblen and collect Droop, Glitter, Gravy and Truffle before returning to Stonehill Inn. As Sorennar begins to cook, Hugh gets Droop to start concentrating on the things that he lost attunement to during his kidnapping.

Droop asks for his 30 steaks (instead of 300, babbiee can't math) and Hugh gets Soren to cook up around 6 of them in the kitchen. Soren moves his kitchen prep out onto the bar counter so he can still chat with everyone. 😊

To Rest

Will gets a pitcher of water for Nezznar; he silently regards it since he's tied up. Soren checks in shortly after and says that since we are celebrating not (only) his defeat but our new friendships, love and peace on the surface, that Soren is willing to untie him--only if he promises to be amicable and peaceful for the night at least.

Nezznar, sounding exhausted and resigned, gives Soren his word-- "I won't try to escape. I just want to rest. Will you give me that?" Soren is taken aback by Nezznar's meekness, and has Will untie him.

Will lets Giltter play with Gwyendlyn, and asks Nezznar if he likes animals. Nezznar stays uncharacteristically quiet (Chris confirmed is this is because he's putting in an effort to be cordial) but eventually admits that he thinks that "pets are only as good as they are useful."

Soren chokes in the background.

Nezznar asks to switch seats away from Will, Will leaves to help Soren cook. Hugh helps light the fire in the fireplace WITH HIS CIRCLET OF BLASTING, THIS IS NOT OSHA COMPLIANT DO NOT TRY AT HOME KIDS.
