🌙 NIGHT 4 • 📅 ELEINT 25
Midnight Talks
Sleeping Arrangements
The group discusses sleeping arrangements, given that they've been given a big room and a small room. Sildar requests to be roomed with Sorennar to keep an eye on him, which Lera agrees with.
To everyone's surprise, Sildar seems to soften a little and gives Sorennar his rapier back, given that he is a magic user. Sorennar once again suggests a gag, but Sildar very firmly refuses to consider it. Lera expresses concern about him being given the rapier back, but does not push the matter.
The group discusses night watch, and Sorennar apologizes for forcing everyone into a watch system even though they were meant to be "relaxing" once they got to Phandalin. Colt teases Sorennar for over-worrying, and Sildar points out that they would have watched anyway due to the Redbrand threat, which reassures Sorennar a little.
The group decides to take turns watching Sorennar and Sildar -- who will have their arms tied together -- in the big room, while the non-watchers sleep in the small one.
Sorennar asks if everyone is alright with the arrangement they have so far, which Hugh and Colt agree with. Lera voices concern about Sildar being tied to Sorennar, pointing out that Sorennar is a verbal caster, putting Sildar at a disadvantage if their arms are tied together. Sorennar takes no offense, but is amused by the idea of Sildar being at a disadvantage in a physical altercation with himself.
Sildar reassures Lera that he would easily be able to beat Sorennar in a close-combat fight.

Sildar inquires about Sorennar's comfort with the situation, and Hugh interjects by bringing up the fact that they had fucked the night before?? Sorennar looks extremely guilty about this, but Sildar is fine if not mildly embarassed???? Sorennar wonders if, given his shorter resting time, he'll be able to leave the bed to partake in other activities, but is denied by the group.
Colt worries about Sorennar's comfort being tied up, and Sildar points out it's the "same" as the past two nights. dflksjldkf
The Ring
Sildar brings up Sorennar's new ring, prompting Sorennar to (after debating lying) tell the truth: that it was given to Sorennar to kill Sildar with. He explains that it's a ring that stores spells and currently contains two spells: one of which displaces a target, and the other deals psychic damage while also tracking the target.
Sildar acknowledges this uneasily, but also requests that Sorennar stop calling Nezznar his "master", since they've "freed" him. Sorennar concedes, though is still hesitant to speak out against him, and surrenders the ring to Sildar.
The group discusses the idea that the ring might be able to be remotely controlled by Nezznar, and Lera suggests that she take possession of the ring so that it "does not kill Sildar". The group points out that she is not dispensable and should also not be subject to the ring, which makes her look away. Sildar places it into the Bag of Holding so that if there is a conneciton, it would most likely be severed.
Double Agent
Sorennar brings up that the Black Spider is still waiting for his report -- and Sildar's head. Sorennar points out that Nezznar is a powerful caster already, let alone the resources he would be able to draw from Menzoberranzan, including armies of drow. He suggests keeping Nezznar in the dark about his betrayal for as long as possible, while lying that Sildar had left town.
Sildar agrees with this, but Hugh points out that if the Black Spider has any spies within Phandalin, they would easily be able to see that Sildar isn't in fact gone. He suggests telling Nezznar that Sorennar had tried to kill Sildar but failed, and that he needed more help.
Sorennar balks at the idea of telling Nezznar he failed, but acknowledges that this is the most ideal situation, despite Sildar's protests. The group discuss the possibility of Nezznar having spies installed within the Redbrands (especially with revelations regarding Albrek).
Sorennar denies that Nezznar would ever stoop so low as working with the "lower" races, citing that he was likely using Grol and Albrek as expendable resources and slaves, by using manipulation and hostages. Sildar is bothered by the idea that Albrek would have betrayed the Lord's Alliance for any reason.
Sorennar decides on the following lie: he attacked Sildar in the night, failed to kill the human, and passed it off as an external attack. He notes that the Black Spider would believe that "a human would be so stupid as to believe that", apologizing again and again for reiterating xenophobic and racist Drow rhetoric. Sildar asks him to stop, stating that the group knew Sorennar didn't truly believe those things.
Sorennar compliments Hugh on a plan well-made. Sildar hesitantly brings up his concerns that the Black Spider may, through underhanded means, convince Sorennar to join him again. Sorennar acknowledges his worry, and assures him that he would comply with any precautions.
Sildar suggests that they ask Garaele to utilize divinization magic to allow the group to watch over the meeting in the woods. Hugh and Colt suggest instead physically following Sorennar into the woods, with Colt going so far as to suggest killing the spider familiar to send a message.
Sorennar hard disagrees with that, worrying about the group's safety and the contingency of the plan if Nezznar discovers Sorennar's treachery -- that Nezznar would get an army of drow to hunt them and the entire town down. He's also hesitant about being watched, citing that he would be using Drow rhetoric to refer to them in a demeaning manner. Sildar assures him that the group knows he doesn't believe those things about surfacers.
Hugh suggests using a fake head to trick the Black Spider, which Sorennar shoots down -- if they cannot lie about Sildar leaving town, it's even riskier to lie about his literal death.
Finally, Sorennar reluctantly issues a warning to the group and especially Lera: that if the Black Spider does get his hands on them, it would not be "pretty" -- especially for a half elf, whom the drow especially hate. Lera questions this, and Sorennar, pained, explains to her the drow disdain for diluted bloodlines. Lera questions if he feels this way -- he does not -- and states that it's alright as long as Sorennar didn't believe it.
In regards to Sorennar's warning, Sildar lets it be known that though originally, he was hunting the Black Spider for the greater good, now it was "personal" -- he wanted to bring the Black Spider down for what he had done to Sorennar.
Sorennar cries,,, bingo !

Sorennar points out that he does not deserve pity, sympathy nor help. Sildar tells him to stfu that he doesn't deserve the life he had before meeting the group. Sorennar says he will give up his life if it takes that, to right his wrongs. Sildar says he will not let him.
Hugh says just fix his brain and they will be A-OK.
City of Spiders
Sorennar is reminded of the letter he had written for the group when he had thought that he would be ordered to leave by midnight, prior to Henry's reveal of his true motives.
He pulls out the letter, along with several pages of notes about the Underdark and a map drawn on its back of Menzoberranzan and its major houses -- where he suspects Colt's parents to be enslaved.
Sorennar realizes that now, if they did manage to defeat (or escape from) Nezznar, he was free to truly guide the party into the Underdark. He offers as such, and is met with enthusiasm from Hugh and Colt. Acknowledging that it may still be good for them to familiarize themselves with the information, Sorennar begins to pass the letters around before realizing that he wants to .... make some edits to the sappy shit information he'd written.
Letters to the Lord's Alliance
Sildar borrow some paper from Sorennar and begins to write his report to the Lord's Alliance: updating them about the situation with Wave Echo Cave, Gundren, Willow Inn, as well as requesting that the inn be transferred in the name of the Fabulous Five. He also writes to a magic store in Leilon for a Sending Scroll.
Lera expresses concern that a member of the Lord's Alliance seems to already have defected to the Black Spider, and questions the security of sending the Lord's Alliance updates. Sildar Hallwinter assures that the higher ups of the Lord's Alliance are trustworthy, which is where the
Hugh requests that Sildar put in a good word for him regarding becoming a judge, following the train of thought from when we broke into the Townsmaster's Hall. This leads to a comical exchange in which Sildar, with some slightly misplaced help from Sorennar, attempts to deflect the conversation / make excuses as to why Sildar is not requesting immediate judge-hood for Hugh.
The group comes together to convince Hugh that the request needs to be written on a fresh new paper due to the Vital Significance of the matter -- resulting in the wise quote from Colt: "what if you get a letter saying that goats are eating wolves, wouldn't you want that to be on its own piece of paper?" -- and Sorennar lies that he has no more paper, so the matter is settled.
Talks with Elsa
Sorennar wonders when he should make his report to Nezznar, implying that as spoiled as he is, he likely won't take kindly to being kept waiting (especially on a report about a failure). The group suggests tomorrow night, but at Sorennar's continued discomfort, agrees for him to go in the morning instead.
As the group gets ready for bed, Lera goes to speak to Elsa privately, having noticed that she may be hiding something. Elsa had all the doors to the kitchen locked, and carefully unlocks them to have the conversation.
Though Lera confronts her about the potential withholding of information, Elsa is far too terrified to offer much of use, especially as she blames the group for not killing the Redbrands and instead putting them in a position where they could easily escape and retaliate on the town.
Elsa is especially panicked about her own safety, as well as Toblen and his son's, and asks Lera to leave her alone. After some more attempts at getting through to Elsa, Lera leaves.
Hugh does something with Sorennar's plate??
(No More) Apologies
Sorennar and Sildar wait for the rest of the group in the hallway to their rooms. Sorennar apologizes for causing the uncomfortable sleeping situation, to which Sildar asks him to stop with his uncharacteristic amount of apologizing overall.
Sorennar offers one last apology: for challenging Sildar's worldview of Drow, knowing that the "reality" of good drow is personally important to Sildar. Sildar implies he does not think Sorennar is bad, still, and that his hand was forced, moving Sorennar to pledge to sacrifice his life, again, for the party's cause.
COLT who has been standing there the ENTIRE TIME LMAO is like "no u wont"
Sildar regroups with Lera, asking about the Elsa situation. Lera conveys everything, and Sildar worries over Harbin Wester's reaction to the Redbrands being in his prison. Sorennar suggests they forgo their plan of confronting Wester, as it seems that he's too cowardly to be reasoned with -- and go straight for the source of their troubles, the Redbrands very early in the morning.
This, however, also means that the group should forgo the watch schedule and instead focus on rising as early as possible. Sorennar offers to be tied up however in order to offer security to the group, but Sildar denies the need for more than arm-ties. The group agrees to just sleep through the night.
The group bids each other good night. Lera seems unenthusiastic in wishing Sorennar good night back.
Bed Time!
Both groups barricade their windows and doors with various furnitures.
Room 1
Colt, Sildar and Sorennar go to the large room, while Lera and Hugh go to the smaller one.
Sildar asks Colt to tie himself and Sorennar to the headboard, which Colt takes some glee in doing considering that Sorennar had previously cut his rope. Sildar and Sorennar uncomfortably adjust their "position", to which Colt exclaims that he's right there and not to do anything more than sleeping ; - ;

Sorennar expresses slight discomfort being so physically close to Sildar, though he hides it well.
Room 2
Hugh and Lera barricade the room with the chest. Lera starts to sleep in a chair to be nearer to the window, but Hugh convinces her to share the bed together to get a better rest.
Fun Time Nightmares
Sorennar trances uneasily, given the events of the day, and his doubts of the party forgiving -- or even tolerating -- him manifest in a nightmare. He sees the party calling him ugly slurs, and when he pleads with Sildar to end his life with dignity, Sildar complies, picking up his longsword and lunging.
Sorennar wakes up in hazy fear, and wriggles out of SIldar's hug, attempting to wrench his arm free of the rope tying him to Sildar and the bed. Both Sildar and Colt wake up -- the former unable to see at all and the latter managing to stop Sorennar before he cuts through the rope.
Sorennar accuses Sildar and Colt of working together to kill him, but manages to realize he had a nightmare before he does any lasting damage. He settles back down in bed after kicking Sildar's longsword to the floor secretly. Colt hugs Sorennar, seeing the wild look in his eye ; ;
Sildar pulls Sorennar close in an attempt to calm him down, causing Sorennar to freeze and lay there for an hour : ( before finally easing himself out of the grapple cuddle and draws in his notebook until morning.
Fun Time GHOSTS
Colt has an oddly realistic dream of a small, enclosed area, and an injured individual laying on the ground. It's difficult to tell the extent of their injuries, nor the facial features, but he knows that they're very badly wounded. He wakes up to find himself staring face to face with a ghostly, green apparition.
The apparition resembles a tiefling male and looks very similar to Colt's former mentor, Urus. Its face looks anguished and devoid of recognition even as it stares at him, and his body is covered in ritualistic carvings of symbols Colt cannot read. There are gaps through the joints of one of his arms, as well as one of his legs, as though it had been cut off.
Colt leaps out of his chair and edges towards Sorennar and Sildar's bed, drawing his weapon and shouting at Sorennar in alarm. Sorennar cannot see this apparition clearly at all, leading to the comical exchange of--
Sorennar: WHAT is that THING??
Colt: It's a TIEFLING! Don't be racist!
The apparition starts approaching Colt, driving him back until he's climbing over Sorennar and Sildar to get away from it. Sorennar, bewildered, wakes the groggy Sildar and a lot of shouting ensues, which is heard by Lera and Hugh in the other room. They both rush over.
The "ghost" clips through Colt's sword and Sorennar's shoulder (making Sorennar feel a cold chill), and touches the side of Colt's head, imparting some knowledge with Colt before disappearing. Lera and Hugh arrive and the group explains the situation to them. Lera expresses concern and attempts to gain more information from Colt regarding the situation, especially knowing his affinity for ghosts.
Colt eventually remembers the symbols carved into "Urus", and manages to write some of them down. Sorennar recognizes the symbols as Undercommon, the language of the Underdark. He relays that:
The symbols praise the Mad God Diinkarazan, a demigod of the Derro
The Derro are warped, shrivelled dwarves that were corrupted into madness by Mind Flayers. They are commonly used as slaves, and are thoroughly mad.
Strangely, the prayers seem to be written in first person, as though by the god themselves.
The group shrugs this off as Colt misremembering the exact symbols.
Hugh wonders if Sorennar would be willing to teach them Undercommon. Sorennar says he is happy to, once they get everything settled. Lera is suspicious of Sorennar's claims given his last claim about ritualistic carvings on Rockseeker, but he seems to be telling the truth.
Colt still seems to be in shock. Lera gets him some water and the Gravy to pet, and tries to continue questioning him about the state of his seemingly dead and tortured mentor. Sildar stops her to give Colt some time to recover, and ushers the group to breakfast.
Sorennar Sildar missed hand hold connection 😔
🌞 DAY 5
Breakfast!
Hugh asks Sorennar to make breakfast. Sorennar refuses gently on grounds that Sildar likely doesn't trust him not to poison the whole party.
There's a whole fiesta with sharing seats; Sorennar thinks that Sildar won't want to sit with him, Sildar ADAMANTLY asks Sorennar to sit next to him (between him and Lera), Lera comes along and Sorennar figures LERA doesn't want to sit with him and goes to get a stool, which causes Lera to jump up and insist that she sit on the side on a stool ; - ;
The group greets Toblen, who has been informed of the situation from Elsa. He makes lighthearted fun of the situation, but does warn the group that if they do not handle the Redbrands soon, he will bar them from coming back to the tavern and putting the townsfolk in danger.
We assure him that we will, in fact, take care of the situation, then order 7 sets of breakfasts and various juices. Around this time, a young boy runs into the tavern, referring to Toblen as “dad”. The boy, Pip, excitedly announces that Carp — the youngest son of the kidnapped Alderleaf family, has finally started talking again and has made it known that he knows where his family was taken. Toblen acknowledges his son’s goodwill but forbids him from talking about the matter in public, knowing that the Redbrands are likely to retaliate.
Deflated, Pip turns his attention to the party and requests that we “adventurers” go and help Carp’s family. Sorennar agrees for the group, but makes Pip promise not to talk about these things until they were finished with the Redbrands, which Pip reluctantly does (because he likes talking about Carp,, pip my BELOVED)
Pip proceeds to try to get to know the rest of the party and causes one hecc of a chaotic breakfast, from asking if Lera uses berries to dye her hair, accusing Sorennar and Colt of being old as FUCK (is he wrong tho) because of their hair color, and eventually fixating on Gravy, the hyena puppy. He asks Toblen for a pet, which Toblen refuses he thinks PIp is irresponsible.
The group decide to capitalize on this and have Pip watch over the pets until they get back from the Redbrand hideout, claiming that it will show Toblen Pip’s responsibility.
Colt attempts to fleece Toblen for money, causing him to charge the group extra out of frustration. Sorennar pays the bill for everyone’s drinks, except for Lera, who insists that she pay for her own.
Toblen inquires about the performance that the group is supposedly putting on on the third of the next month, and proceeds to blast that information to all the patrons. It looks like we’ll be having quite an audience if we survive Nezznar… Sorennar takes the chance to “Inspiring Leader” the group by performing “Mood for a Melody (Piano Man) / Ballad for Hugh” on the piano of Stonehill, to which Pip and Hugh dance.
Sharp Teeth
M y h a i r : (
The group finishes up breakfast and go to Sister Garaele for the agreed-upon scrying of Sorennar’s meeting with Nezznar. Sorennar double-confirms with Garaele that she DOES want to get involved in the situation despite the dangers of being killed or tortured — she is very eager to learn “everything” regardless these warnings.
Sorennar prefaces their request with a transparent account of some of the events — that he is a double agent working against his former master in a matter that could endanger hundreds of thousands of lives. Garaele grows somber with this revelation, realizing the group is under a time limit, and agrees to help scry after inviting the group to dinner to tell her all their secrets in exchange.
Sorennar expresses concern over the dangers to Garaele, and she states that she has connections who will protect her, leading Sorennar to finally realize that there is more to Garaele than a holy symbol. Garaele takes a sample of Sorennar’s hair and begins scrying him through a crystal ball so the rest of the group can see.
Sorennar runs off into the woods to have his meeting with the Black Spider.
The Meeting
Today, the Spider seems extremely annoyed, a mood that is only exacerbated by Sorennar's confession of his "failure" to kill Sildar. The final straw seems to be the fact that Sorennar had left his "gift" behind and isn't wearing it -- as it had been confiscated by Sildar.
Despite Sorennar's groveling and apologies, Spider insults him for being weak and useless, threatens Sorennar's family several times, and orders Sorennar to take his shirt off. Sorennar, having expected punishment, obeys and gets bitten viciously on the side.
Though the wound is large, the spider's venom congeals the blood. The Black Spider taunts Sorennar, stating that he would have hurt him much, much more if Sorennar didn't still have a task to complete, and dismisses him after several more threats and promises of more pain in the future for his failures.
"Enjoying" the Show
Back at the Shrine of Luck, the group is shaken. Sildar is furious and guilty, as is Lera, for letting Sorennar put himself in harm. Hugh is fuming and tells Lera to be ready to heal Sorennar.
Colt is especially vocal in his upset, claiming that they should have followed Sorennar and killed the Black Spider, citing that it's "just" a spider. This causes Sildar to lash out, because as horrible as he feels about the situation, he knows that alerting the Black Spider to their plans would only result in more casualties. Hugh agrees.
Garele is shaken as well, and quietly pondering the situation. She offers to heal Sorennar when he comes back, and reminds the group that they are to report everything to her at dinner.
The group rushes to meet Sorennar as he returns, and meets him near Alderleaf Farm on the outskirts of the town. Sorennar attempts to play off the situation, but the group is in no mood for jokes and Lera sternly orders him to take off his shirt and heals him almost completely thank you ;;
The rest of the group placate themselves by discussing how they're going to kill Nezznar, calling first dibs on stabs and whatnot ;- ;
Extremely guilty over Sorennar's getting hurt, Lera apologizes to Sorennar, who brushes it off as something that needed to happen. Lera suggests that they could have gone with Hugh's plan of using a fake head, but instead take one from one of the Redbrands (if they ended up deserving death for their crimes) in place of Sildar's.
Sorennar points out again that it was risky to even lie about Sildar having left town, and insists that having Nezznar wait any longer for a response would have only made the punishment worse -- let alone if Nezznar had discovered he was lying about Sildar's head.
Lera notes that they are already lying to him, but in Sorennar's eyes, lying about still being loyal to Nezznar (i.e. pretending nothing is wrong) is a lot easier to pull off than offering a false head, esp as Nezznar may know what SIldar looks like. Lera states that Nezznar does not know what SIldar looks like (?)
Hugh pushes this conversation back to the Redbrands. Lera's mood sours over her guilt and refuses to participate in the conversation further, citing the time limit in getting to Carp's then Barthen's. The group decides to go to the Alderleaf Farm since it's close by.
Sorennar tries to be happy and chirpy to lighten the mood, which falls a little flat ;;
Alderleaf Farm
We knock on the door of the farmhouse, and are told to go away by a small child. :(
There is food on the porch -- bacon, likely brought by Pip.
Sorennar casts Message on Carp, promising that the group was here to help find his parents, which manages to persuade Carp to open the door a crack. He is extremely terrified and still reluctant to speak, almost closing the door on Sorennar when he begins speaking to him.
Sorennar holds the door open just a crack and tries to hold a conversation with Carp, who reveals that though he knows where his parents were taken, he's afraid to speak because "they" might here. Colt mentions that Pip sent them, giving Sorennar the idea of using Pip's "hiring" of them to convince Carp that they meant well.
Sorennar lies that they're the finest adventurers around -- heroes, even, at Carp's prompting -- and had been hired to find Carp's family, which finally convinces Carp to let them in. Carp, after scalping the entire group and the Lord's Alliance in just a few words, relays the following information:
He was out playing when he heard a commotion at the farmhouse
He saw his parents and his younger brother, Sid, getting dragged out of the house by Redbrands.
He was so terrified that he couldn't do anything and hid instead.
He saw them get dragged into a cave in the woods.
He says the kidnappers were "like Lera", clarifying that he means they had long red cloaks like her hair color.
Lera backs off of the conversation at this comparison. Sorennar, hearing about Carp's younger brother, tells him a short story of how when he was kid, his younger brother also got kidnapped, at which point Sorennar asked his neighbors for help and they got him back. He tries to equate it to this situation, promising that much like others saved his brother, he would also save Carp's.
Carp, finally moved, turns to the group and formally asks them for help with getting his family back.
As his words fall, Colt and Sorennar witness Carp's voice warp into a deep, pleasant, sultry one. Only visible to Colt and Sorennar still, Carp's eyes seem to glaze over into a milky white as inky tears run down his face, flowing in place.
Our Redemption
Sorennar and Colt are frozen in place, unable to speak or move. The candlelight illuminates a shadow behind Carp, one that is suddenly much bigger and horned.
Carp taunts Colt with:
This is a familiar story isn't it? You know the pain in those eyes, do you want this child to be like you? Living a life of hunger and poverty? You can make up for your mistakes, of your cowardice. Think of the gratitude, the reward, the recognition. You lost your family, you can stop this child from losing his
and Sorennar with:
Such a sad little spider, what a pitiful struggle it is for you to survive, so full of misery. Lets see how can we turn those feelings around, you want to feel like a hero, don't you? Won't it feel nice to see this child reunited with his little brother? The whole town is celebrating the return of the hero. Your friends loving you again, your human stopping from looking at you in disgust.
Shortly before leaving, he also directs this comment at Sorennar:
Though I am surprised, who knew that one of her spawns could feel such pleasure and pain so strongly, how delicious, let's cultivate these feelings
Carp levels a look of pure disgust at Hugh, then Sorennar and Colt snap out of the reverie. To the rest of the group, none of this happens and no time has passed.
Sorennar immediately agrees to Carp's request, and begins to order the group to go immediately to rescue the Alderleafs, uncharacteristically aggressive and disregarding the group's former plans -- even threatening to badly maim the kidnappers. Colt agrees.
Sensing that something is wrong, Lera blocks the door with her body. Sorennar attempts to get past, desperately, citing this as his "redemption", and that this was how he could prove himself good to the party.
Lera pleads with him, horrified as she notices that as Sorennar and Colt got more agitated, their eyes began to glow white and leak inky tears that left lines down their cheeks -- with how angry Sorennar had gotten, almost all of his face was covered.
Carp is terrified through this ordeal.
Seeing that Lera would not budge, Sorennar's desperation turns to anger, and he begins verbally attacking Lera:
Your cruel, lazy God sits on his golden throne and lets the world suffer. Do you plan on following in his footsteps?
Though taken aback by the insults, Lera doesn't move, still. Sildar approaches Sorennar in an attempt to better understand the situation, leading Sorennar to turn his attention to him:
I thought you a shining beacon of morality and good, yet you would not punish those who hurt others? Today, the Alderleafs, tomorrow, the Stonehills, the day after, the Sister, perhaps?
Will you only care then, when it affects friends of yours? What good is your rank and wealth if you do not use it to help the weak?
Sildar is visibly pained by this, and hesitates to act further. At this time, Colt seems to have snapped out of it, and joins the group in convincing Sorennar to stand down.
Sorennar, presently, is beginning to pull out his rapier, leading Hugh to grapple-hug him. With his other hand, Sorennar forces the rapier back into its sheathe, and amidst this seeming inner conflict, he breaks his little finger, snapping himself out of the influence.
The group confront, then comfort, a disoriented Sorennar, who states that something had been controlling him to some extent, amplifying his emotions and desires. The group discusses the possibilities of ghosts, which Sildar shuts down in the interest of time. Lera offers to heal Sorennar, who declines it gently due to conserving spell slots. They decide to go to Barthen's to get a split for his finger.
They address Colt's condition, but it had seemed much lighter than Sorennar's. He denies being possessed at all, just a feeling that he wasn't quite acting like himself.
After placating a scared Carp, the group once again assures him that they would find his family, and leave.
Carp waves from the window. We wave back.
